My Citrus Spring Baby Shower
I had a nursery renovation update planned for today (cabinets are going in this week), but thought I’d save it for the final reveal, as we’re nearing the home stretch. Surprises are always fun, right? Instead, I wanted to share a few snaps from my baby shower from last weekend. Click through for a personal celebratory post- it feels like a momentous milestone. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy a peek into the party, instead of seeing built-in installation today… it’s hard to believe we’re a month away from meeting our girl.

If you missed the news, back in January we shared our nursery makeover and design plans for baby Gibson… along with a bit about our journey to get to this point (infertility, IVF, and eventually surrogacy with our lifelong friend).
Invitations

Two of my sweet friends organized the shower, which we held at the Alta Club (one of my favorite local historic buildings)– and it turned out to be such a wonderful day. When they asked what theme I envisioned, I immediately thought citrus. They leaned into that, my love for Italy, art, and spring florals… which obviously felt like a winning combination.
Snippets from the Shower

Admittedly, I was running a bit behind and didn’t get too many photos before people started showing up. This is what I captured in a fast three minute timespan… I’m missing quite a few lovely details, but beautiful and a fun glimpse- nonetheless!
I wore my favorite Tobie dress in a green stripe with eyelet details at the hem… I swear this dress looks good on every body type. I have it in two colors. It’s one of those comfortable classics I keep in my closet.

For the food, we had a brunch buffet complete with coffee, mimosas, and an Aperol spritz bar, but I assembled two charcuterie boards… a cheese board and a round veggie board with hummus. You know me- I love pulling these together, so I’m glad my friends let me help! I love the way they turned out.

The room itself has really beautiful historic millwork, so we really didn’t need decor. Florals, balloons, blue & white ceramics, and some vintage art was all it took. I’m so thankful to my friends who showed up to celebrate.

Questions?
You can find my thank you cards here! Aren’t those sweet? They come in multiple colors. I’m not sure where the invitations came from… my friend was in charge of those. I love the way they turned out though!
I’ve built quite the collection over the years. Many are old or thrifted, but I just shared 30 classic blue and white home decor finds– there are quite a few in that post, if you missed it.
Sure thing! I’ve been saving everything I’m using in the nursery and my registry here. I hope it’s helpful.

I saved the best image for last… how darling are these cookies? My friend had those made and I’m absolutely smitten. They tasted even better than they looked, which seems rare. I hope you enjoyed a quick peek at my shower. It was such a beautiful weekend and I’m feeling grateful as we’re tying up loose ends to welcome our baby. Nesting has definitely set in!

The little dress is the cutest. The cookies are works of art, I would have had a hard time biting into one. I actually thought of you yesterday and wondered if the baby had arrived. Wishing you all the best.
Good morning Sarah!! Such beautiful details- I love the theme! Very “you” and totally on brand. Your dress is lovely!! I’m so happy for you both; one month?!! How can time feel so slow and so fast all at once? Ultra excited for the best arrival of the year. The cookies look delightful and are so precious. I love that your friends planned this for you- I hope it was an incredible celebratory time! And thank you for sharing with us- what a privilege!!
The stamp on your thank you note envelope – you have such an eye for detail! Love it.
I recently picked up a beautifully decorated cookie at a trade convention and almost didn’t want to eat it – I overcame that, though. ;) Hope your gorgeous cookies were delicious.
One month!
What a beautiful celebration! I’m so excited for you all!
