10 Quince Essentials I Swear By as a Designer
You already know I’m a big Quince fan, but at this point, I’ve tried enough to know what’s actually worth buying. These are the 10 Quince essentials I use on repeat— from the rugs and bedding in our home to my go-to cookware, bath towels, and even a few things in my closet. They’re high quality, well priced, and genuinely useful. Consider this my very edited list of the Quince basics that have earned a permanent spot in our home and my everyday routine! I highly recommend the following…
1. Japanese Damascus Knife Set
A good set of knives is worth the investment, and this Japanese Damascus steel set has really impressed Emmett (he’s the picky one about knives). They’re sharp, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable to use. They also rival our favorite Damascus knife we purchased in Tokyo at the market. We keep ours in a utensil drawer, but they offer a block… along with a matching steak knife set, if you’re going all out.
2. Premium Bed Pillows
I’ve tried a lot of bed pillows over the years, and these are easily some of my favorites for the price. They’re full, soft, and give that plush designer look I’m going for. I recommend them all the time! I’m partial to the down pillows (you can choose between soft, medium, and firm), but they also have a premium down alternative pillow, or a luxury option— luxe goose down pillow.
3. Hand Knotted Wool Rugs
As you might imagine, I’m very particular about rugs… Quince makes some of my favorite affordable wool options. I have this one in Greer’s nursery here at home, and this one in the primary bedroom (in the loft) at the cabin. They’re made from 100% hand spun wool, feel incredibly soft underfoot, and getting a natural material at this price point is pretty unheard of. The two I purchased haven’t shed— another big selling point.
4. Ceramic Non Toxic Nonstick Cookware
I own the Caraway set too, and the Quince version is honestly basically identical for a fraction of the price. It has that same slick ceramic nonstick surface, but it’s made without PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead, or cadmium. I bought the Quince set for the cabin kitchen and have been really impressed with the quality. If you’ve been eyeing Caraway, this is the set I’d snag for less.
5. 100% Cashmere Sweaters
No joke, I own about 10 of these sweaters in different colors and styles (including cardigans, pictured above). The 100% cashmere is soft, classic, and such good quality for the price. They’re identical to my beloved Jenni Kayne cashmere sweater for so much less. They’re staples in my closet that I wear and layer constantly. I also love their cotton sweaters when I want something a little lighter. If you’re going for a capsule wardrobe, these are a must.
6. Linen Sheet Set (and Bedding)
This is the only bedding I sleep on, which is probably the strongest recommendation I can give. The linen is incredibly soft, washes easily, and somehow gets even better with time. 7. Non Toxic Candles
I’m very picky about candles, and these smell more expensive than they are. The fragrances are really good, sophisticated, and high end without being overpowering. I’m also in a stage of life where I care about materials and what I’m ingesting. These are plant based, made with a soy and coconut wax, have a cotton wick, and are free of the junk you don’t want burning in your home. I buy these often for a seasonal reset, and they make great gifts!
8. 100% Mulberry Silk Pillowcase
I’ve slept on a silk pillowcase for years, and I swear by them for my hair and skin… but I’m done paying premium prices. They’re especially nice when my eczema flares and my skin is extra sensitive. This one feels incredibly soft, washes easily on a cold delicate cycle, and has held up really well. It’s one of those little luxuries I genuinely notice when I’m not sleeping on one.
9. Glassware
I’m kind of a glassware snob, and I’ve used and loved this set for years. I love a really thin, delicate wine glass, and these feel so much more expensive than they are. They’re lightweight, have a lovely shape, and make even a random weeknight glass of wine feel special. They’re also dishwasher safe, which is non negotiable for me.
10. Quick Dry Bath Towels
These feel like really good hotel towels. They’re thick, plush, and made from 100% cotton, but somehow still dry quickly between uses. I don’t know what magic is involved here, but I’m on board. I also love the ribbed texture— which gives them a little more interest hanging in the bathroom. Ours get washed constantly and have stayed soft and fluffy. This is actually one of the biggest reasons I keep buying them. Emmett is a hot sleeper, and I sleep cool… we use the Quince linen sheets year round, and we’re both happy. They’re breathable, soft, and never have that heavy feeling some bedding does. If you love a relaxed bed and tend to sleep warm, this would be my first Quince bedding recommendation.
I actually just bought a set of the champagne flutes for one of my book club friends. She’s getting married this weekend! They’re beautiful, feel much more expensive than they are, and they’re something a couple will actually use for years. We’ve had this exact set for 4-5 years. I love giving something that feels a little luxurious but is still practical, and these check both boxes. The fact that they’re dishwasher safe doesn’t hurt either.
I’m very sensitive to itchy sweaters, and I wouldn’t own 10 of these if they bothered me. The cashmere is soft enough for me to wear directly against my skin, which is a big reason I keep buying more colors and styles. They don’t irritate my skin. If cashmere isn’t your thing, their cotton sweaters are another favorite of mine!
