The Best Wool Rugs From Quince
If you’ve followed along for a while, you know I’m incredibly picky about rugs. They anchor a room, define your floor plan, soften hard surfaces, and can completely change how a space feels. I’ve installed hundreds over the years- both in client projects and in our own homes, so I’ve developed pretty strong opinions about what makes a rug worth buying. One material I always come back to is wool. A good wool rug never goes out of style, wears incredibly well, is healthier, and looks higher end than synthetic options. The downside? Many designer wool rugs can easily cost several thousand dollars. That’s exactly why I’ve been so impressed with Quince’s collection. They’ve managed to create beautiful 100% wool rugs that feel classic and well made without the staggering price tags. Today, I wanted to share my favorites. These are the rugs I’d choose for my own projects, whether you’re decorating a brand new home or simply updating one room. Hope it helps save you some money and gives you another resource to consider!

It’s no secret, I’m a big fan of Quince. I’ve been shopping with them for years, and I’m fairly certain everyone knows the only bedding I sleep on is the Quince linen bedding. While bedding, clothing, textiles, and tableware seemed like an easy choice, I’m not sure why it took me until recently to order a rug from them. I shared my most recent one in the nursery reveal, and have purchased two more for our Utah cabin. I feel like I’ve been sleeping on rugs from Quince! Let’s dive in…
Why I Prefer 100% Wool Rugs

As an interior designer, I always recommend wool whenever the budget allows. Here’s why I continue choosing it over synthetic fibers… wool naturally resists dirt and stains, holds its shape over time, is naturally antimicrobial, feels soft underfoot, adds warmth and texture, hides everyday wear, and has a timeless look that won’t feel dated in a few years. The downside? There can be some shedding- though I haven’t experienced that with any of my Quince rugs yet, and they can be costly. Wool rugs are also healthier since they’re made of a natural material. When rug fibers are airborne (from shedding) and ingested, the last thing you want to see in a rug composition is polypropylene or formaldehyde… especially in a child’s room.
My Favorite Quince Wool Rugs

I’ve rounded up all of my favorite 100% wool rugs below. Instead of chasing trends, I focused on rugs with classic patterns, beautiful texture, and colors that work with almost any decorating style. These were all in my saved cart for the cabin.

When I’m selecting a rug, I always ask myself one question: “Will I still love this five or ten years from now?” If the answer isn’t an immediate yes, I keep looking. That’s one of the reasons these made the list. Many have subtle textures, understated patterns, or soft neutral palettes that complement any aesthetic. They’re the types of rugs you can move from house to house or room to room without feeling like they belong to one specific style.

Why Do These Rugs Cost Significantly Less?
You’d expect to pay considerably more for rugs made from 100% hand spun, hand knotted wool, especially with the quality and classic patterns from Quince. No, they’re not hand loomed heirloom rugs costing thousands of dollars. That’s not what they’re trying to be though. These rugs are thoughtfully designed, well constructed, and priced in a way that makes natural fiber rugs accessible to more homeowners. For me, that’s a combination that’s hard to beat.

My Designer Rule for Choosing a Rug
If you’re deciding between several rugs, here’s the framework I use. If your room already has bold artwork, colorful upholstery, or statement lighting, choose a quieter rug with texture instead of pattern. If your room feels simple or lacks character, let the rug do more of the heavy lifting with a subtle pattern or interesting color palette. The goal isn’t for every piece to compete for attention. It’s creating balance. I also remind clients that a rug isn’t supposed to be the loudest thing in the room. The best rugs make everything else look better by complementing.

Where I Would Use These Rugs
Some rugs naturally work better in certain spaces. A chunky textured wool rug is one of my favorite choices for bedrooms because it immediately makes the room feel cozy. Flat woven wool rugs are great for dining rooms since chairs slide more easily. Living rooms are where I usually gravitate toward soft textured patterns that add warmth without distracting from the furniture. Entryways can handle slightly more pattern since they help disguise everyday traffic. Thinking about the room first makes narrowing down your options much easier.

Questions?
Yes. Every wool rug sheds a small amount. It’s completely normal and improves over time with regular vacuuming and everyday use. That said, none of my Quince rugs have shed heavily… I don’t notice wool piles, fluff, or fibers floating around. They feel comparable to my vintage and antique rugs.
Absolutely. I prefer them! Wool naturally hides everyday wear better than many synthetic materials and ages beautifully. Most importantly, it’s a healthier choice for kids or toddlers who are crawling around or playing on the floor.
Many of their collections are made entirely from wool. Always double check the individual product listing since materials can vary between collections. The last rug I purchased from them (the Dakota rug) is made of 100% wool pile, and the base (or bottom of the rug) is 80% wool / 20% cotton… still natural material and high quality.
