My Classic Christmas Home Tour (Inspired by Ralph Lauren)
The holiday season has officially arrived, and I couldn’t be more excited to open our doors for this year’s Christmas home tour. I leaned into a classic Christmas aesthetic, inspired by Ralph Lauren. I heard it was trending this year and this felt like my moment to shine. I used rich textures, deep tones, and a cozy, collected strategy I think feels really timeless. Think fireside lodge mixed with polished, tailored details. Cozy meets classic! Equestrian hints (obviously), layered textiles, silver metals, and lots of pine needle greenery. If you’re craving a nostalgic, warm, and inviting holiday look… come on in!
Every year I look forward to sharing our annual holiday home tour. Grab a blanket, a cup of something warm, and enjoy a long post filled with snippets of my house. Living Room
The living room is always the first space I decorate, and this year I wanted it to feel like an inviting and bright mountain lodge… warm, layered, and elegant. Here’s what I incorporated for that classic Christmas look:
- Mixed pine garlands layered with cedar and berries
- Rich plaid textiles (because nothing says “Ralph Lauren Christmas” like tartan)
- Equestrian-inspired details
- Lots of ambient light using candles and lamps
- Wool, faux fur, and velvet accents in deep green, navy, and cranberry
- Blue & white porcelain
Since we do most of our holiday hosting in this room, I wanted it to feel extra welcoming… comfortable for conversation, cozy for lingering, and festive without being cluttered.
Christmas Tree
Our Christmas tree deserves its own moment this year because I relocated it! I moved it to the other side of the living room and it made all the difference. I leaned fully into the classic Christmas look with Ralph Lauren influence… rich color, layered textures, blue & white, red ribbon, and a few meaningful ornaments collected over time. Here’s how I styled it:
- Mixed brass, silver, and glass ornaments for a vintage look
- Classic red accents and ribbon to keep things sophisticated and drive the color palette
- Textural elements like felted garland and hand-tied bows
- Warm lighting (they give off the prettiest glow)
- An oversized basket for the base, layered with a blue & white garden stool to fill negative space

Kitchen
The kitchen is all about practical holiday touches. I cook and bake a lot this time of year, so I focused on decor that works nicely with everyday use and is out of the way. Here’s what I did:
- Pine garlands wrapped around the windows
- Hung a simple wreath from the side of the fridge panel
- Piled fresh pomegranates in my fruit bowl (pretty and edible)
- Added seasonal linens in tartan
- Brought out my holiday cookbooks
- Added some blue & white accents
- Swapped my hand soaps for a seasonal fragrance
- Pulled together a floral arrangement in my red color palette
It feels festive without taking away from the functionality of the space… my favorite kind of easy and lived-in holiday decor.
Entryway & Foyer
I like the entryway to feel festive without overwhelming guests the moment they walk in. This year I kept things refined and classic: a simple red tartan tablecloth, a woven lamp (a recent vintage find), an oversized candle, and cohesive florals. A few more styling notes:
- Garland draped down the staircase for a timeless look
- What you’re not seeing… my Pura diffuser with my go-to frasier fir fragrance
- I dressed up my plaster bust, because that felt fun in the corner
The garland draped along our staircase is always one of my favorite holiday moments.. it’s always the first thing guests notice as they walk through the door.
Basement
The basement media room and basement bar is our cozy retreat for movie nights and slow winter weekends. I played up the warm, lodge-inspired look down here. A few highlights:
- More blue & white… but that lives down here permanently
- Cedar garlands draped over the console and mantel
- Layered vintage-inspired ski art (here’s where to find vintage ski prints and winter art)
- Fur throws for lounging
- Games tucked away for holiday downtime
It’s relaxed, comfortable, and exactly where we end up every evening. I love our basement so much… especially this time of year!
Home Office
My office got a modest dose of Christmas cheer this year because I ran out of greenery. The key for me is layering in just enough to make it feel special when I’m working through the end of the year. What I had left did the trick! This year’s additions included:
- A tabletop holiday arrangement (see how I did that here)
- Seasonal candles and lamps for ambiance
- A heated blanket tucked away in basket in the corner
- Equestrian prints… because being a horse girl, that’s what lives in my office year round
It only took me a few minutes to decorate, but even these small touches are bringing me so much joy when I’m working at my desk.

Good morning Sarah, the house looks stunning- nailed it!! I love the plaids you chose; both scream Ralph Lauren to me. The addition of the cranberries really drives the look home, and now I’m kicking myself for not picking some up. Our trees look almost identical might I add- 🤣 great minds think alike! Good morning! Ralph Lauren aesthetic + Room for Tuesday = a match made in heaven! Of course, everything is beautiful, cozy, and festive, but I especially love how well-integrated it feels. Decorated, but you can still live in your house.😆 While I’m a fan of all colors, the trad triad of navy, cranberry, and evergreen never fails! And give me all the tartans, thanks. If anyone is able to deliver the Ralph Lauren Christmas aesthetic it’s you, though I think yours is more minimalist. The tv room seems the closest, given the darker decor. The tree is beautiful.
