1. White Marble Lazy Susan
I actually have and love this white marble lazy susan. It lives in my kitchen next to the range, and you can’t beat the price and functionality… especially for marble with really nice veining.
Shop the White Marble Lazy Susan $29.99
2. Wood Pepper Grinder
These also come in natural wood and rival the fancy French pepper mills from Williams-Sonoma… but are 1/6th of the price.
Shop the Wood Pepper Grinder $17.48
3. Enameled Cast Iron Cookware
Another designer home dupe for the coveted Le Creuset dutch oven… these heavy and substantial enameled cast iron dutch ovens are an easy and affordable essential.
Shop the Cast Iron Enameled Cookware $59.99 (for the 5 quart)
4. Marble Salt Cellar
World Market’s marble is impressively beautiful and inexpensive. They have a variety of nice marble kitchen goods, but the lidded salt cellars stood out to me… and they’re only $15.
Shop the Marble Salt Cellar $14.99
5. Wood Cooking Utensils
Wood cooking utensils are not only beautiful, but functional… the in-store display featured all olive wood varieties, but online- I noticed they also have walnut utensils (which would be my preference).
Shop Wood Cooking Utensils $5.98 – $9.99
6. Handwoven Baskets
If you’re looking for larger scale, affordable handwoven baskets, World Market is a great stop for those. I found classic shapes and some more interesting ones in multiple colors.

Another useful marble item… we had this paper towel holder in our previous kitchen and it has a great weight to it.

10. Oversized Wood Tray
This giant tray is 24″ in diameter… it’s huge and would be ideal for an oversized coffee table, dining centerpiece or large scale ottoman. Perhaps maybe even an extra large charcuterie board? The wood finish has a nice classic look.

As I’m eagerly awaiting spring gardening, I took a gander at the planter selection. They actually had quite a few nice terracotta options to choose from.

White dishes never go out of style. If you’re looking for simplistic serveware, this is a great place to buy it. They had a lot of varying shapes and sizes.

I thought this woven pendant would be charming over a diving table or breakfast nook. Much like my view on their furniture, I’d recommend being selective in their lighting department, but there were a few classic fixtures.

Tips for Shopping for Timeless Home Decor at World Market
I know big box stores can be tricky to navigate and are known for displaying on trend items (that are prone to go out of style), so here are my best tips for snagging the timeless goods that you’ll love for years to come:
- Stick to the Essentials – items like I’ve shown throughout this post… kitchen goods, bath linens, functional everyday items.
- Choose Items Made of Natural Materials – look for solid wood, stoneware, 100% cotton, 100% linen, marble, etc.
- Double Check the Quality & Craftsmanship – everything has to pass my quality & craftsmanship inspection. Is it well made? Are there rough edges? Does it have a nice weight? Does it look cheap?
- Avoid Trendy Items – there are lots of trendy home items that will be out of style later this year… avoid those.
- Purchase with Longevity in Mind – choose items you know you’ll still like in 3-4 years. Keep the words “timeless” and “classic” in mind when making purchases.

I hope you enjoyed this one! Let me know in the comment section which store you’d like me to shop next month… I was thinking maybe Ikea, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Walmart, HomeGoods, etc? Where do you shop for home items locally (in person)?
