Spring Appliance Collection with Big Chill
I am beyond excited to get back to work today and announce a dream partnership I’ve been keeping secret for awhile now. I’ve partnered with Big Chill to offer a curated and timeless palette for their appliances this spring! Any colors from my curated collection are $400 off this season- which applies to all of their classic appliances and variations (ranges, refrigerators, range hoods, dishwashers, etc). I’d love to tell you more about it, share my design philosophy behind this one, and give you a peek at how I landed on four historic looking colors.
Big Chill Appliances
I first discovered Big Chill shortly after our GE Cafe range began to give us problems (not long after we renovated our kitchen). I asked for recommendations for reliable, professional, and beautiful appliances as we were saving up to someday switch. Many messages flooded my inbox with a brand I had heard of, but never researched… Big Chill. The messages rolling into my inbox included common words, like: dependable, made in the US, heavy duty, consistent, built to last, no issues, highly recommend, have had for years, etc. I was intrigued. I did my own research and eventually decided a range from Big Chill would be well suited for our home, in terms of functionality and aesthetic. Fast forward a few years later, as we were purchasing our range- Big Chill reached out and asked if I had any interest in helping design and curate a collection for spring. The designer and color theorist in me was absolutely thrilled, and of course I’m excited to share the palette with you today.
Here’s what Big Chill had to say about the collection… which is exactly what I hoped to achieve with the palette.
We are thrilled to introduce the 2024 Spring Edit, a collaboration with award winning interior designer, Sarah Gibson of Room for Tuesday. This Utah-based designer emphasizes classic style for an aesthetic that will withstand the test of time. Currently undertaking her third home renovation project, Sarah curated this color palette inspired by historic colors that will never go out of style – an intersection of updated, yet traditional design. As a nod to timeless kitchens of the past, the Spring Edit custom colors were carefully selected to serve as a classic extension to any home or aesthetic.
My Curated Collection
My collection is comprised of four classic colors that will withstand the test of time. Given their appliances are built to last, so should the design. When I purchase an expensive appliance, I want to enjoy it for years to come… and while these are totally customizable- I wanted to select colors that feel timeless and are capable of melding with any aesthetic for the long haul.
The colors I’ve selected also work with warm or cool metals. This is key because the metal accents and hardware on these appliances are stunning and come in an array of materials: copper, brass, nickel, and chrome. Anything can be mixed and matched for a timeless look!
Any color from my collection can be applied to any classic appliance: ranges, refrigerators, hoods, or dishwashers… and there are variations and multiple sizes of each. No matter which appliance you like, if you choose a color from my collection- you’ll automatically receive $400 off for the duration of the season.
Granite Grey
Obviously this color struck me because it’s an exact match to my kitchen cabinetry. Bold, yet neutral, Granite Grey is the perfect way to add a timeless splash of subtle navy to any kitchen. With almost a green undertone (like my kitchen cabinetry), this cool dark hue includes depth, interest, and instantly adds character.
Pigeon Blue
Evocative of antique French blue hues of the past, Pigeon Blue is a true classic that nods to refined luxury with plenty of character. This coastal color adds the perfect splash of color to any kitchen with a high-end designerly look. I want something in this color so badly! It also looks fabulous paired alongside their copper accents.
Oyster White
As seen in our basement bar reveal… the perfect creamy neutral, Oyster White, easily adds warmth, sophistication, and an alluring brightness to kitchen appliances. It is versatile, elegant, pairs well with any aesthetic, and is sure to outlive any trend- growing with you as your aesthetic evolves… a truly timeless color and classic complement. I knew I had to choose a really good color for my fellow neutral lovers!
Olive Green
Olive Green can be paired alongside warm or cool colors, making it a versatile option for any appliance. While this historic green pairs well with a wide range of color palettes, it is the perfect way to add classic interest to a neutral kitchen.
FAQ
It’s very nice! It’s decorative, but impactful. I feel it gives the fridge an antique or vintage look, giving you the opportunity to mix metals in the kitchen.
Emmett & I both love it! Given I gave such a detailed look at our previous range, I felt our current stove deserved the same attention and a dedicated blog post for an accurate comparison… that’s coming soon! That said, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.
