Facebook Marketplace Finds : Philadelphia, PA

Hello from Kentucky and happy Friday! Work brought me to Louisville today, then I’m checking out for family time. I’m excited for a fun weekend ahead! To kick things off, I’ve got a new Facebook Marketplace post for you and whoa– it’s my favorite city to search yet. I cannot believe how many inexpensive, high quality, in excellent condition pieces are just floating around Philadelphia. I seriously can’t fathom having THAT selection at my fingertips… count yourself lucky if you live in the area! For the rest of us, the best we can do is hone our algorithm. Click through for the good stuff and to do just that.

I could have went on for days with this search. I wasn’t joking with I said Philly is a literal furniture goldmine- I saved over 25 items. Part of me is now considering flying out, loading up a U-haul, and driving back home. Ha, but really. You’ll see what I mean…

Photo disclaimer… the FB marketplace image quality in Philly seems exceptionally bad, but the items are exceptionally good- so look past the image quality. I pulled the following photos directly from Facebook Marketplace.

Vintage Gold Wall Sconces

Let’s start with wall decor… only $100 for this incredible set! These are so beautiful and the details are perfect. You know I love a romantic candleholder wall sconce.

Vintage Louis XVI Writing Desk

Sure, this desk could use a little stain, furniture polish, and love, but it’s in great shape for being an antique. For $425, you could definitely shine this baby up!

Visual Comfort Picture Light

Facebook Marketplace Finds : Philadelphia, PA - roomfortuesday.com

I grabbed a photo from my home office for this one because the seller’s image was just the light in the box and a screen grab from Visual Comfort, but they’re selling my exact picture light. It’s listed for $400 (new, in the box) and it retails for $539, so it is a deal if you’re in the area!

Leather Counter Stools

Where were these navy genuine leather counter stools when I was looking for my basement renovation? These would have been so perfect, but alas- distance and furniture shipping can be tricky. Some local, snag them!

  1. Good morning! I’m always SO envious of FB finds in the east. Antiques just piled up everywhere! Although your won’t find me doing a lick of work these days, I love that Louis desk! Is there a name for when the leg creates that rounded edge on the top corners? That detail slays me! The Henredon table with the brass banding? Smokin’. I will be dreaming of that viola marble table for days. Sigh. I have always adored tiger maple, and that price is bananas. (Although I think they’re probably too delicate for my household!🙄) I keep seeing this exact style of footed round pedestal table; the universe might be sending me a message. And, hello gorgeous inlay! Paired with the elongated shape, that Heppelwhite demilune stuns. Definitely more formal than I generally prefer, but maybe funked up with a groovy mushroom lamp or some MCM pottery? Gorg. So many killer pieces! Let’s hope they inspire my algorithm.🤞 Thanks for a fun FB browse! I hope your work meetings are productive and followed by some quality time with the fam! Happy (full moon) Pizza Friday, friends!!🍕💜

I’ve actually been finding quite a few beautiful things floating around my area lately. Some months are better than others, I suppose!!

  2. Louis XVI, Visual Comfort, Henredon, and Hepplewhite… all in one post! Are you kidding Philly?!! Good morning Sarah! What a gorgeous post to wake up to. Treasure trove indeed! Throw in some Duncan Phyfe and we’ve got ourselves a vintage party, ha! I’m smitten over the drop leaf table/desk. What a beaut. And the demilune? In the words of Peggi, hubba hubba. My algorithm is going to love you for this one! I hope you had a relaxing flight back home- how exciting to see all your siblings together- that’s no easy fete. Soak up every second, and enjoy yourself Sarah! Cheers to pizza Friday everyone!
