It’s the last week before the final reveal in the Fall 2017 One Room Challenge. I’m going to keep this post short and sweet, so I don’t give too much away. Click through for the last process update and for a glimpse of what you can expect to see in the totally finished bathroom next week!
In case you missed the first four weeks, no worries… catch up here: Week 1 (before images and the design plan) // Week 2 (demo and prep) // Week 3 (tile) // Week 4 (bathtub resurfacing and electrical) // Week 5 (paint and hardware)
We’ve come a long way since I initially planned the bathroom. As always, things change as time passes… demo seems like forever ago. This week we finished up painting and are almost ready to install the final touches.
One of those tiny gorgeous details is the matte black vent cover. It blends so nicely with the black marble floor tile. Speaking of the tile, I love that you can see lighter veining in the marble in some of the marble tiles! In the above image, I captured a beautiful marking in the lower left. The floor tile is still probably my favorite thing in the space.
In addition to hardware swaps, like the vent cover, I’ve been scheming the decor this week.
I sent off these gorgeous nudes (created my my uber talented bf, Laurie Anne) to get framed and they’re really the only thing making me nervous at this point.
I prefer to frame with Framebridge. They do a beautiful job and have my favorite finishes, but I got the artwork mailed out a little late in the game… I’m crossing my fingers everything will be back in time for the reveal / shoot. As soon as the nude ladies arrive, I’ll give you a sneak peek on Insta stories. Yikes, that sounded dirty- but you know what I mean! Installing artwork is always the icing on the cake. It’s actually Emmett’s favorite part of the process, believe it or not.
Here’s another item you can expect to see in the final reveal next week…
This darling wood brush will add a little warmth to the space. I like that’s it’s functional and aesthetically pleasing. It actually came in a pack of four (and clearly I don’t need four!), so I’m thinking I’ll do a bathroom themed giveaway for the room reveal… maybe some of my favorite soap, a bath brush (or two), and some other spa related items. This is my very first ORC, so I think it’s cause for celebration anyway! Who would be down for that?
Well- it’s crunch time, folks!! This is an especially busy week for me work wise, so I’ll be stretched thin as it is. Come back next week to see the finished bathroom.

November 9, 2017 at 3:48 pmThis looks so classy! Can’t wait to see the final! Question on your approach for choosing frames… (not to get too far ahead) do you typically stick with the same frame style in each room? Or mix them up? Or does it a case by case thing, where the treatment depends on the room, art, and other factors?
Sarah
November 9, 2017 at 4:59 pmThanks, Melanie! I think it depends on the room / art, but 99% of the time, I mix and match frames. In every single room in my home, there are different frames for different pieces of art. It’s all about making sure they’re cohesive and compliment each other. Hope this helps to answer the question!

November 9, 2017 at 8:58 pmI am in love with Laurie Anne’s paintings! I will most definitely be adding a few of her pieces to my Christmas wishlist this year. Thank you so much for introducing me to such an amazing artist.
Sarah
November 9, 2017 at 9:42 pmShe’s amazing! I seriously can’t wait to see those things framed. I also bought some more of her art… I traded some things out in my living room, so you’ll see that soon.

November 10, 2017 at 5:06 amI am salivating over that floor! The details are absolute perfection, down to the simple and beautiful vent cover. Everything looks so lux and modern, but with a great little Victorina throwback.
Also is that a matte black CB2 soap dispenser I see in that flatlay? I no joke just ordered 3 for my house because I’m so obsessed with them.
Sarah
November 10, 2017 at 4:11 pmThank you so much, Sonny!! Yes, it’s the CB2 dispenser. I’m happy to hear that you like it, because I’ve heard mixed reviews.

November 14, 2017 at 7:45 pmEverything looks amazing! I love the matte black vent cover – what a big difference – can’t wait for the reveal :)
Rosemary
August 22, 2018 at 9:33 amWondering I’d you’ve had any problems with the GORGEOUS floor tile – the vendor indicates it is for Wall use only (assume because of the gold glass). Any cracking or chipping?
Sarah
August 22, 2018 at 1:35 pmHi Rosemary, great question! We’ve had no issues at all… no cracking or chipping. It’s pretty durable because it’s marble and it’s a mosaic. I’m pretty sure it’s rated for flooring and walls- I’ve found some applications of both! Regardless, I still love it and it’s holding up beautifully. Hope this helps :)
