Facebook Marketplace Finds : Kansas City, MO
Happy Friday, friends! It has been quite awhile since I’ve shared a Facebook Marketplace Finds post. Time to change that! This month I searched Kansas City, MO and couldn’t believe some of the low prices, designer finds, and sheer amount of lovely listings- a serious goldmine. Click through to check out my finds, and even if you’re not local to the area… remember to save items you like to hone your algorithm. It will serve you similar items based on your actual location.

I’ve been spending a lot of time on FBMP hunting for something specific for our basement renovation, so this post felt appropriately timed. My algorithm has been dialed, but I haven’t located what I need yet. Any guesses what I’m currently searching for? Here’s what I dug up in KC…
Photo disclaimer… I pulled the following images directly from Facebook Marketplace, so the size and quality of some isn’t the best.
Hekman Round Burl Table

This cute little table is only $150 and the shape is really charming… not to mention the burl wood top. Then again, you know I have a thing for this special pattern based on my burl bathroom vanity!

Gilded Mirror

I loathe when sellers don’t list dimensions, but for $20- I’ll let this one slide. I immediately loved this gilded mirror with the interesting frame and killer price tag. Twenty bucks? Sold!

Hickory Co. Chest of Drawers

Anything from Hickory Chair Co is heirloom quality in the furniture industry, coming directly from High Point, NC. This quality investment piece is worth the $799 ask, but depending on how motivated the seller is… you may be able to get it for less.

Bernhardt Dining Swivel Chairs

A fun modern find… another high-end designer interior brand name, Bernhardt! These swivel dining chairs would be really classic styled around a circular wood table. I know they’re comfy, too (I’ve sat in this same model).

Burl Coffee Table

Someone who is looking for an amazing, budget-friendly coffee table… I’m urging you to grab this one! The tray frame, leg style, inset details, movement within the wood, and even the finish is perfect (love a good walnut). Even better? It’s only $60!

Hammary Dresser with Marble Top

This cute dresser has some great details, but I’d definitely paint it in a glossy or flat finish (one extreme or the other). I could envision this in a dark hunter green, merlot, or navy. Right? It says it has a marble top, but double check the stone- I’m not totally convinced, based on the photos. If it’s not marble, you could probably get it for less!

Henkel Harris Hutch

Henkel Harris is another name to know in the furniture industry- heirloom quality & high-end craftsmanship. This gorgeous hutch provides both open and closed storage, has inset drawers & doors, and is a great size. For $200, it’s a steal!

Duncan Phyfe Table Folding Table

This simple folding table seems to be in excellent condition and is another designer brand I love to search for… Duncan Phyfe. This traditional look is as timeless as it gets. It’s listed at $300 and has already been marked down once.

Ethan Allen Coffee Table

Does this vintage Ethan Allen coffee table look familiar? It should because I have the same one in my formal living room! It’s exact. I did not pay nearly that much for ours, but perhaps the seller is willing to negotiate? Either way, it’s fun to see this floating around in the wild of the web.

Floral Print Designer Sofa

Last, but not least- I always like to include a wild card. This floral designer sofa has down cushions, amazing fabric (in my opinion), and a fantastic shape. If I had a cottage, I’d scoop this right up! Of course it could always be reupholstered if you hate the fabric.

FAQ
A leather barley twist bench!
First, see how long the item has been listed. If it’s brand new listing, a seller is less likely to negotiate. If it has been listed for some time, you’re free to proceed. Come from a place of kindness, be matter-of-fact, pose the negotiation as a question in a complete sentence, and always respond once the seller gets back with you. Example below:
Buyer: Hello, (Name)! I’m interested in (Item)… would you be willing to take $100?
Seller: I’m sorry- I’m firm on the price.
Buyer: No problem, thank you for the response and please let me know if it doesn’t sell and you’d consider my offer in the future. I’d appreciate it!
I’d say a few separate sessions of searching with intention… which could be as early as a day or two (at least in my experience).

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ahead! I’ll be working on photographing our home for my annual holiday tour next week. I hope you’ll check back for that, at some point. I always want to cross some things off my to-do list, and get outside for at least a couple of hours. We’ve been getting snow in the mountains and the dogs would enjoy a hike. Cheers to that!
