It’s the season of curb appeal, spring cleaning, and that time of year where everyone is super motivated to make their home look it’s best- especially the exterior. I thought it would be fun to roundup my favorite wall mount mailboxes for this month’s ‘Best of Etsy‘ post because that happened to be one of the very first exterior items we swapped upon moving into our home. It’s the little details- like a mailbox, that can make a big impact in regards to the aesthetic of your home! Click through for a roundup of the options that met my approval and made the list…
01: envelope mailbox // 02: white modern mailbox // 03: frank lloyd wright mailbox // 04: simple copper mailbox // 05: chic mailbox // 06: black glossy mailbox // 07: brass and black mailbox // 08: vintage style mailbox // 09: light mod mailbox // 10: flush mount mailbox // 11: wood modern mailbox // 12: tudor vintage mailbox // 13: post modern mailbox // 14: patina copper mailbox // 15: metal mailbox // 16: vintage brass mailbox // 17: concrete face mailbox // 18: vintage mail slot
My favorites from the roundup include: #5, #7, #8, #9, #16, and #18. If I could do my entire mailbox vignette over, I’d probably opt for a vintage option…. just to give our basic exterior some more character.
If you’re not into any of these options, definitely check out this post. You can see the before and after of my own mailbox, as well as get the DIY tutorial.
I’d also love to know if the majority of you have a wall-mounted mailbox attached to your house, or the kind installed on a post at the end of your drive? Also… what other items do you shop for on Etsy? Drop me a comment below, and I’ll pull some ideas for the next roundup! Come back tomorrow for the One Room Challenge reveal(!), where you can see the round wall mirror I purchased from my previous Best of Etsy post.

May 8, 2018 at 5:11 amThese look so charming! In our town, all mail has to be delivered curbside unless you were in your house before that ordinance. As soon as a “grandfathered” residence changes hands, the post office holds the buyer’s mail until a mailbox at the curb is installed!! I trudge out to the street while my neighbor gets her mail handed to her at the front door like royalty. *side eye*

May 8, 2018 at 8:09 amThanks, Peggi! This is the very first house we’ve had a house-mounted mailbox. At our previous home, we had to walk to the post office everyday- they didn’t even deliver curbside. Before that… we lived wayyy out in the country, so it was a “ride the 4wheeler or take the car” to the end of the drive situation. Haha! xox

May 8, 2018 at 4:52 pmSome of these are just lovely. I notice though that they do not come with locks – don’t you worry about an unscrupulous passer-by coming along and helping themselves to your mail? (I’ve always wondered about this when watching US-based films and television programmes where the kerbside boxes are often featured. Here in the UK we mostly have letterboxes in our front doors).

May 8, 2018 at 10:41 pmThank you, Sally! Luckily, I’ve never had to worry about mail thieves. Haha! We’ve always lived in safe areas, and I think maybe that’s a bit over dramatized on TV? At least I hope. We also have a security camera at our front door, so we’re able to keep an eye on anyone who comes to the door. I love the look of letterboxes in the front door though! xox

May 9, 2018 at 12:03 amWhat a great round-up! Our house has a mail slot, so thank you for including one of those. :) This is the first house we’ve had with one—we’ve always had a mail box on a post at the sidewalk. Most of the time we love having a mail slot, except when a mail carrier tries to shove a thick magazine though and it gets mangled!

May 9, 2018 at 12:13 amThanks, Jasmine! I wish we had a mail slot- I love the way they look! I guess it would be annoying if the mail carrier tried to stuff heavier items through it though. Ha! xox

May 23, 2018 at 3:18 pmHi Sarah! Found your site through the “No Makeup Home Tour,” and I loved this mailbox and your house number! Can you share what font you used for the text?
Sarah
May 23, 2018 at 4:40 pmThanks so much, Natalie! It’s actually not a font, I’m sorry! I custom designed the type (I have a background in graphic design).
