A Collected Dining Room

Collected Dining RoomIt’s been nothing short of chaotic after house hunting last week (more details on that to come!), so I’m sort of cheating and sharing images I previously shot of one of my friend’s homes awhile back. I thought saving content for a crazy week like this would be a good idea- now I’m giving myself kudos for *sort of* planning ahead. Long story short, her house is seriously one of the coolest I’ve seen and I know you guys will love it too! It’s a magical place filled with collected furniture, decor, and amazing art. Her personal aesthetic is very funky and modern, while her husband, who also appreciates mid century, prefers adding heavy traditional, heirloom pieces. Between the couple, they have a really welcoming and collected dining room. Check it out!

Dining Room ArtThe home itself has a modern arts and crafts architectural vibe. The bulky flat moldings, minimal interior doors, hardwood floors, and original hardware look sophisticated, yet super hip. I’m continually discovering neat original things throughout this home.

Dining Room VignetteSee what I mean by the mixing of modern and traditional? They pull it off incredibly well! Organic wood tones and classic lines paired with a glam Jonathan Adler chandelier… yet it totally works! It really goes to show that different styles and personalities can work well and actually enhance the aesthetic of a space. Their home is full of layers, texture, and visual interest.

Curated Dining Room

Modern Art PrintRemember the ultimate bar checklist? Does this cart look familiar? It totally came from this space and belongs to my friend- she thrifted it for under $50. Such a lucky and beautiful find!

Modern Bar CartWhat do you guys think of this dining room? It feels really cool and collected, right? I’ll be sharing more of their amazing house soon. The hallway I designed was also in this same home. What would you say describes YOUR personal style? Shop the look below!
