Frosted Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

better than sex cakeHey guys! Jacqueline here. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have already seen that I celebrated a certain (big) birthday this week. Yes… yesterday I turned the big 3-0 and to be honest, I’ve been dreading this birthday for awhile now. Now that it’s here I feel more thankful than dreadful. Thankful for 30 years of life, thankful for wonderful family, friends, and just overall thankful with where I’m at. Besides, age is just a number, right?! To celebrate, I decided to bake myself one of my favorite cakes and Sarah asked if I’d share the recipe with you. I’ve been enjoying spending more time in our kitchen now that it’s finally finished. If you missed that reveal, you can catch up on our classic white kitchen here. Anyway, my mother-in-law has been baking this cake for years and it is always my first choice when she asks what birthday dessert I’d like her to make. Well, this year I made it myself (trust me…not my first time) and I plan to enjoy it all week long since “birthday week” is totally a thing. Bring on all the indulgences. Get the full recipe for the yummiest frosted chocolate chip bundt cake below! Some people also call it “better than sex” cake. I’ll let you decide!

better than sex cakeHere’s what you’ll need before you start baking…

INGREDIENTS:

1 box yellow cake mix (I used Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mix)
1 box instant vanilla pudding (I used Jell-o brand)
4 eggs
1 bar German sweet chocolate, grated
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
1 8-ounce carton sour cream
1 6-ounce package chocolate chips

better than sex cakeNot only is this cake super moist and delicious…it’s very easy to make too! First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Next, mix all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and pour into a greased and floured tube pan (also known as a bundt pan). Bake for 50 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Allow it to cool completely before removing from pan.

I have to say…this past year has been one for the books! As I look back on my 20’s I’m happy with where I’m at and where things are headed. I am so grateful for all of you and thankful that Sarah allows me to share some of my heart here on this amazing blog. As always, thank YOU for following along- we sure do love you guys!
