5 Summer Cocktails to Try This Weekend

5 Summer Cocktails to Try This Weekend - roomfortuesday.comWant to know a crazy fact? I haven’t shared a cocktail recipe on the blog since 2017! No… it’s not because I stopped consuming alcohol. I’m still a fan of fancy drinks, celebrating, and serving friends my cocktail creations, but after my last reader survey, most of you said you’re pretty much here for home decor, renovating, and interior posts only. I toned it down with the extra curricular lifestyle topics, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some good posts hidden in the archives. As we near the end of summer, I thought it would be fun to dig up 5 of my favorite summer cocktail recipes to shake up this weekend. I’m hosting a sleepover with my girlfriends and you better believe we’ll be making some. Our husbands are away at speed week in the salt flats and we’ve declared this weekend “spa week”. Cheers to that & happy Friday, friends! Click through for the recipes.

#1 // Southside Gin Mojito

5 Summer Cocktails to Try This Weekend - roomfortuesday.comGin is my liquor of choice and there is nothing I love more than a poolside mojito in the summertime… except maybe a margarita? Regardless- this mint and lavender combo is sweetened with a little honey and it’s absolutely delicious!

#2 // Skinny Piña Colada

5 Summer Cocktails to Try This Weekend - roomfortuesday.comAfter returning home from our Hawaiian honeymoon years ago, I attempted SO many piña colada recipes trying to replicate the one I fell in love with in Maui… then I realized just how bad that version was for me. Haha! The sad truth. Ignorance is sometimes bliss, but now I know the nutrition facts and there is no turning back. I’m happy to report, I created a skinny version that tastes just like the real thing with about half of the calories! You’re welcome, fellow piña colada lovers. This tastes just like vacation!

Still searching for my favorite go to cocktail. I love the French made liqueur called Hypnotique, but haven’t found a mixed drink that highlights its flavors. Cool Citris Babe sounds intriguing, so I hope I can find that liqueur in Minneapolis. Do you recommend that brand of gin with it?

    1. Happy hunting, Melanie! I bet it’s available in Minneapolis- you all have a great selection. I’d just use your favorite brand of gin :) Hendricks is delicious- or better yet, something local! Have a great weekend :)

  2. Gin is my favorite, too! (Although, I also love bourbon…) If you get a chance, you might try Crater Lake gin; it’s made in Bend and infused with fresh juniper berries. It’s my favorite with ginger beer, a little lime and a cucumber spear! That yogurt drink looks delish; an egg white alternative intrigues me. Now I also need to explore that fancy French liqueur! So many fun cocktails! I should definitely mix up a batch for my last weekend of summer.☹️😎
    Enjoy your girls’ weekend!

    1. Same! Gin, followed by Bourbon (you can take the girl out of Kentucky, but you can’t take the Kentucky out of the girl- hahah). I’m going to search for Crater Lake gin. Thanks for the rec! Here’s to hoping I can get lucky with our limited Utah selection. I’m also going to have to whip up your ginger beer concoction. That sounds amazing! Have an amazing last weekend of summer vacay :)

YESSSSS! I’m so ready for HH! these all look delish! pretty sure we could be friends with our love for gin, plants, outdor living, wine and of course puppies (duh). Thanks for the recipes! Can’t wait to try the one with yogurt!

    1. Yesss!! We’re basically already friends because of that :) Did you try any over the weekend?! xo

  4. Mmm, anything alcoholic involving citrus is usually a hit for me. I’ll have to see what I can do to make a couple of these happen.

    1. Same!! Let me know if you try any :)
