About Sarah Gibson

Welcome! I’m Sarah Gibson… interior designer, blogger, and founder of Room for Tuesday and Tuesday Made.

Originally from Kentuckiana, I currently reside and renovate homes in Salt Lake City, Utah alongside my husband, Emmett. We’re currently renovating our third home and work alongside the industry’s most trusted home and renovation brands to bring projects, beautifully styled vignettes, and educational renovation resources to fruition. Over the past decade, we’ve worked with well-known favorites such as Sherwin-Williams, Hudson Valley Lighting, and Lowe’s, to name a few… many of which I still work with today! I’m also proud to have had my work featured in some prestigious publications, like Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and House Beautiful.

I have degrees, including a BFA, in design, fine art, art history, and marketing from Indiana University. While I no longer accept full-scale client projects or remodels, I gained valuable hands-on experience while working at full-service design firms previously in my career.

About Room for Tuesday (this blog)

During my time working alongside the industry’s top designers, architects, contractors, and home brands, I learned so much about interior design, renovating, and the home improvement process. On my website, I share valuable design knowledge, renovation tools, DIY tutorials, emerging trends, industry resources, inspiring interiors, as well as my own home projects and process.

I began blogging in 2014 and have since shared inspiration and relevant information pertaining to interiors with millions of readers around the world. I’m lucky to have a wonderful community of like-minded design enthusiasts with a variety of aesthetics!

I also routinely update my past and popular posts with relevant, up-to-date information, so you can easily refer to them for any given project. I always enjoy connecting via the comment section, so feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

Quick facts…

  • Emmett, my husband (and handyman), is also my high school sweetheart.
  • My first job was in typography and graphic design, so I appreciate beautiful print materials (magazines, design books, etc).
  • I have two dogs: Cash (a wire fox terrier) and Crosby (an Irish doodle).
  • Emmett & I both come from construction families, so we’ve been tackling these sorts of projects since we were teens.
  • I’ve met many of my design icons: Kelly Wearstler, Suzanne Kasler, Nate Berkus, Alexa Hampton, and more!
  • We tackle all of our home renovation projects ourselves (to code, of course).
  • I gain much of my design inspiration from traveling and being outdoors.

On design…

I encourage investing in timeless materials that will withstand the test of time, supplementing with vintage for added character- as well as mixing high & low in regards to decor to best fit your budget.
