January has me all sorts of excited about design. The new year always brings lots of inspiration, encouragement to push creative boundaries, and the chance for a fresh start. This month I’m feeling a color palette that’s in my comfort zone, yet outside the box. I’m typically attracted to deep greens, but with an oversaturated internet full of trendy hunter greens, I’m being swayed in a lighter direction. I’m calling my newest color obsession sage. It’s a muted gray, green color that acts neutral but is wayyy more interesting.
01: velvet cantilever dining chair // 02: steel waste basket // 03: tasseled cushion cover // 04: matelasse coverlet & shams // 05: eucalyptus paint color // 06: glossy lacquer shelf // 07: textured curtain panel // 08: patterned cushion cover // 09: abstract watercolor // 10: panorama vase // 11: lacquered napkin rings // 12: velvet sofa
From the roundup, I’m seriously coveting those dining chairs (#1)… but then again, you already know I have a thing for cantilever forms. I’m also loving the textured and cozy matelasse coverlet (#4), as well as the english velvet sofa (#12). That thing would be dreamy in my new office!
The bottom line when looking for the perfect hues of sage green- I’d to steer clear of mint, but rather towards the moodier and muddy tones. Fight the urge to jump on the dark green trend- which is sure to quickly fade, and take the less traveled route. I’m predicting sage will be big later in 2017. You can definitely expect to see more of this color in my renovation!

This post speaks to me, as our living room walls have been painted Nantucket Gray for a few years. Both myself and my walls needed a lift. I love your style! It’s so refreshing!
. . . thanking Alison H. (above) for the tip on the Ikea table.
