Essential Oils

After listening to friends and family rave about essential oils, I finally jumped on board and decided to give them a try. I assumed it was just another fad that would quickly pass, but after investigating further, I learned it’s a healthy lifestyle change that I should’ve tried long ago. They’ve even made their way into my bag as everyday staples:

Of course before I committed to testing oils, I did my homework. I’ve come to find there’s an essential oil that can help just about anything. They’re derived from plants and combat an extensive amount of heath issues, such as: allergies, fevers, earaches, headaches, insomnia, inflammation and so much more. It’s way healthier than over-the-counter items people typically stock in their medicine cabinets.

One of my favorite Young Living products is called Thieves. As a germaphobe, it stays in my bag permanently; I substituted my regular hand sanitizer for this alternative. It kills 99.96% of bacteria, plus it doesn’t dry my hands like other products.

Breathe Again is another oil I’ve been using lately. It has been helpful as allergy season begins. My asthma usually flares on account of allergies, leaving me congested and short of breath. I use a little of this in the rollerball package and immediately feel better. It’s a eucalyptus blend that smells great.

As outdoor enthusiasts, Kalyn and I also spend a lot of money at the pharmacy buying products to help with things like allergies, insect bites, poison oak/ivy, bee stings, etc. Some of the products we use frequently, like insect repellent, is super harmful. Previously, we would purchase products that contained poor ingredients because they actually worked. Now we don’t have to compromise our health for the sake of mosquitos. Essential oils like lavender, citronella, and patchouli will definitely be among our favorites this summer.

There are so many benefits, I encourage you to do some research yourself. I won’t bore you with facts on the blog, but essential oils definitely have my vote of approval. In addition, my sister says they’re a must-have for moms. Try them and let me know what you guys think! My products came from here. Feel free to contact Emily, Young Living representative, with additional questions.
