Roundup : Organic & Floral Wallpaper
Hi guys! Jacqueline here! If you follow along on Instagram stories you may have seen the very early stages of our powder room renovation. Unfortunately, between one of us working long hours and working around a baby’s sleep schedule, we are moving pretty slowly on the project. However, we have started ordering items for the new room and they are currently taking up space in our living room/office (including our wallpaper). I have been begging Dan to let me wallpaper this room since we moved in. Of course, that also involved tearing down the existing wallpaper from the previous owners and then installing more. It took some convincing but he finally agreed and we scored some beautiful floral wallpaper during Anthropologie’s “Anthro Day” sale. Before I landed on a winner, I compiled a long list of contenders and I’m here to share my favorites. Continue reading to see all the beautiful options we considered.
Any time I dive into a project, I begin by creating a moodboard in Photoshop. It helps me visualize the rooms and pull pieces to see what works together and what doesn’t. This time I made a ton of changes with the wallpaper (I think I almost tried every single one of these) to find the perfect option. I knew I wanted something organic and botanical, and pretty much all of these options fell into that category. I’ve had my eye on #7 for quite some time, but after seeing Chris Loves Julia use it in their bathroom renovation recently (pictured below), I decided to try something different. I landed on #4 because it works perfectly with our vanity top (more of that coming soon), plus it’s gorgeous and subtle! #12 came in as a close second and I also love #1 for a bold, dramatic look.
If you’ve been debating wallpaper for some time now, a powder room is the perfect place to try something bold and fun. Since they are typically smaller rooms, they don’t require much paper, making it less visually stimulating and helping with the budget.
What are your favorites from this roundup? I’d love to hear your opinions below. Can’t wait to share this project in it’s entirety when we finally finish! Stay tuned.
