Noteworthy

noteworthy-landscapeYou guys, I’m sorry I’ve neglected the blog lately. I promise, it will all be worth when I’m finally ready to share more of our renovation (which is hopefully very very soon). The beginning is always slow going- lots of waiting on things to arrive, demo, building, you name it. For those of you who know me well, you know I’m not a patient person. At all. In fact, I’m probably one of the most impatient people in the world… not one of my finer qualities. Nonetheless, it’s killing me just as much as it’s killing you not seeing updates on here. Soon though! Click through to see what’s been happening…

Lately, I’ve been consumed with work (ahhh, the real world of adulting). I’m almost ready to launch a brand new design website and portfolio- that includes e-design!! Spoiler alert- I rebranded Sarah Gibson Design to Tuesday Made, which is way more fun and has a ton of potential for lots of things I’m really excited about.

Salt Lake is stunning right now. We found the most beautiful park walking distance from our house, and this is the view (see above image). Pinch me! I feel like I live in a fairytale. I snapped this quick photo of Emmett last night doing some dog training with Finn.

I pretty much live in casual clothes since I’m currently working from my home studio these days (yoga pants, jeans, basic tops, sneakers), but there’s one specific item that has made me want to dress nicer lately. My latest fashion obsession is tall boots… that barely go over the knee. You know I love a good ankle boot and have a closet full of ones I wear all the time, but I’m not sorry about giving into this new trend. I went shopping last week and ended up with these boots.

I’m about to collaborate with a really cool company! Have you guys heard of Bemz? Basically, they put designer fabric (Designers Guild, Christian Lacroix, etc.) over Ikea stuff. They also make custom curtains, which is what I’m most interested in. My swatches are on the way, and I’m excited to share more about it soon.

My birthday is this weekend (as is halloween), and I’m excited to welcome a new year of change, challenges, creative growth, and a lot of fun. Do you guys have a favorite birthday age? As I’m moving into my later twenties, I’m feeling more comfortable with myself and my direction- and I have to say, I’m pretty proud. I know who I am, I have big goals, and I’m open to new and exciting adventures. I’m hoping for another year of meeting and making new friends, and moving forward with amazing people. Last year was pretty fabulous and I feel like you guys have been a huge part of that. So, I wanted to say thanks! Thank you for reading, following, and encouraging me along the way. I feel so lucky! Ok, enough of the mushy birthday garbage. Cheers to an older version of myself… and anyone else with October birthdays. I’m looking at you, Scorpios!!

Speaking of living in the west now… my skin is dry. This is a strange phenomenon because my skin has always been oily. Long story short, I had to find some new skincare products and switch up my regimen. My new favorite thing is this hydrating spray. It actually works and smells fantastic! I spritz a little on a couple times each day- even over makeup it gives you perfect dewy, glowing skin. The scent was so good and I loved the sample sized products, I ended up purchasing a few more things from this line as well. Love them all! From the cleanser to the eye depuffer, I’m seriously obsessed. They’re a little pricey, but so far- a little goes a long way.

I absolutely loved watching (and maybe bingeing) Parenthood last year on Netflix, so it was fun to see this celebrity’s home tour. It’s sort of not what I expected.

I really really want to try this. Has anyone else? I’ve always wanted bangs, but can’t commit because my hair texture is fine.

What have you guys been up to? Any noteworthy products, links, or news I should check out?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Wishing you another year of happiness, achieving your goals, and making your new house beautiful!
Dry skin~ Moving from the Midwest to Montana I was shocked at how dry my skin started to feel! I exfoliate with a homemade sugar and lemon juice scrub weekly, use really good lotion, and bought a good humidifier!
Bangs~I haven’t tried those bangs but I’ve seen people fake them using their ponytail and a headband or scarf and they look pretty good!

    1. Thanks so much, Leah!! I love your comments :) I need to try to lemon juice scrub… thanks for the tip. Montana is equally amazing- so incredibly gorgeous. Hope you’re having a great week. xo

  2. Bangs… I have them & once they are cut it takes a while for them to grow out if you hate them! Happy Birthday, hope you have a great weekend. So excited for Tuesday Made & that house tour on Lonny was incredible. I’ve never watched that show. Currently binge watching “You Are The Worst” on FX.

    1. Ha! I know, I know… I want them, but I don’t want to wait for them to grow out, then I feel stuck. They are so pretty though! Thanks so much, Holly! I need to check out “You Are The Worst”. xo
