June Moodboard

June Moodboard - CementIt’s the beginning of a new month, and you know what that means!! A brand new monthly moodboard. I’ve been loving an unexpected material this season and I’m pretty sure it’s here to stay all summer long: concrete and cement. Click through for my best finds and for inspiration on how to sprinkle this throughout your home and outdoor living space this year…

I think cement and concrete looks best paired with warmer tones and inviting organic materials… think natural wood, warm leather, or soft linen. It’s all about juxtaposing this hard material alongside something more textural and inviting. From the roundup, I just put that beautiful outdoor cocktail table (#5) in a client’s space, I’m also really loving the bench (#3), the bookends (#2), and the bathroom canisters (#7 and #9).

Natural Concrete in bathroomYou can also use concrete in a more feminine way- like the image above. Alongside white and brass materials, it looks pretty chic. That just goes to show cement doesn’t always come off as modern or sterile. There are plenty of ways to implement this into a variety of styles!

Who has a cement or concrete piece in their house? If we ever add-on, I’m seriously contemplating a concrete bathroom or shower floor! I’d love to hear your favorites from the collage to see if we’re on the same page. Happy Friday, guys!! xo

  1. ? I have started receiving your posts twice in one week, the same one. Not sure how that happened. BTW, think you are the blogger who introduced me to Kristy Woodson Harvey? She is the most amazing writer. I read all three of her books in the last 3 weeks (vacation) and absolutely, absolutely loved them!!! Thank you so much. I have now passed them on to my 3 daughters who are also reading them. I loved them all but I think Slightly South of Simple is my most favorite! Can’t wait for her next book.
