Hewing Hotel
Last week I had the privilege of joining a handful of amazing creatives in Minneapolis for an inspiring getaway. It was basically a collaboration between brands and businesses that all have common morals and values (more on that within the post). Long story short, they put us up at the insanely gorgeous Hewing Hotel. Here’s a little peek into the Hewing, in case you’re planning travel & adventure in Minnesota. The vibe and aesthetic is industrial, masculine, and eclectic all at the same time- so basically, really good!
The color palette and layering of textures in this hotel is done to perfection. Prior to entering my room, I took a moment to admire the teal door with clean lines and brass hardware.
The exposed brick inside was making me seriously wish I had a home that could boast an industrial brick wall. The Hewing is actually a century-old brick and timber warehouse that has been restored in the North Loop district. Based on the images alone, I’m sure you can tell it’s very charming.
I also appreciated little details like quality bedding and functionality (lots of hanging space) throughout the room.
The rooms look pretty cohesive, but they vary in style. I snuck into some friends spaces to get a quick look at how the decor varied throughout the hotel.
For the most part it’s pretty consistent, but some rooms had monochromatic wallpaper, while others had the best of both- brick and a fun pattern!
The bathrooms were pretty classic (in a good way), and if you follow along on snapchat and stories, you probably took the virtual tour with me.
I had to laugh because some of the plumbing fixtures *might* also appear in our bathroom renovation. Brizo is cranking out some really cool plumbing products, you guys! They definitely fit the minimal industrial vibe of the Hewing.
Downstairs, the lobby didn’t disappoint! This place was hopping every single night. There’s a really great restaurant and cocktail bar that is clearly very popular with the locals (and for good reason).
It felt more like a lounge and less like a cocktail bar. It was nice to find cozy vignettes spread throughout this open concept level.
To elaborate a bit more about the trip and who was involved, Liberté (a new organic yogurt company), flew a bunch of like minded creatives to Minnesota. Their goal was to unite businesses and individuals who appreciate quality, well-crafted (and designed), made-in-America products. I felt so lucky to meet so many wonderfully talented people and explore a few companies that I’m a big fan of- especially now. Later I’ll be sharing a recipe and design ideas, along with a textile mill tour that go into greater depth. Basically, it was a fun-filled, inspiring few days at the Hewing and around Minneapolis.
I’d definitely recommend staying here and I truly hope I’ll be back someday! I know Emmett would love this place and the history behind it. The North Loop is hiding lots of gems! Aside from the Hewing, there’s so many great shops and restaurants.
Liberté covered all travel expenses for me to attend this event; however, all opinions expressed here are entirely my own. Thank you for supporting the sponsors that allow us to create unique content while featuring products we truly use and enjoy!
