February Moodboard

Navy Blue Bar VignetteThis month’s moodboard is a little unlike me. Never in my life have I been attracted to navy… green has always been my clutch. I know it’s contrary to what the rest of the population is into- and to popular design and decor, but I’m finally feeling it. Over the weekend, I selected the palette for our master bedroom and I’m proud to say, deep midnight blue is definitely involved! I made my first navy paint and decor purchases and there’s no turning back. Click through to see my favorite items of the color palette in which I’m late to the party.

I literally just bought a pair of vintage nightstands (last Thursday to be exact), but I wish I would’ve discovered the lacquered asian style vintage set (#3) first. What a find! I’m also into the drapery. If you’re looking for quality, sophisticated curtain panels… pinch pleat (#5) is the way to go! They’re a little spendy, but well worth it. I’m also digging that adorably weird planter (#10), which would look amazing stuffed with succulents. Lastly, from the collage above, if I had a larger office or studio space, that settee (#11) is to die for. SO good! The lines, the material, the bolster cushions, the color… I pretty much love everything about it.

Midnight Blue Kitchen

We haven’t jumped into our kitchen reno yet, but my plan has always been lighter cabinetry. I will say, after seeing the above image, my decision *might* be swayed. The midnight blue hue looks lovely in a classic kitchen!

The same goes for the bathroom below. Our bathroom plan is already underway, but the glossy navy tiles below make a strong case for a moody, dramatic shower. Imagine that with brass shower trim instead, oh yeah.

Midnight Navy Blue TileI don’t know why I resisted deep blues for so long. I think it’s because of their vast popularity. It’s really an easy design neutral. However, now that greens are becoming trendy, maybe it’s my attempt to go against the grain. Who knows… either way- I’m feeling navy tones. What colors are you into this month?
