A Chic Dressing Room
It’s been a long time coming, but I’m excited to finally share my dressing room. This room may be the biggest transformation in our house. Before moving in, this room was a total man cave with plaid wallpaper. Now, it is the exact opposite: a chic dressing room and closet. I live in an old three-bedroom home, with very tiny rooms. Since this space was not large enough to fit bulky bedroom furniture, I convinced my husband to let me turn it into a walk-in closet. I am so happy with the results and I love spending time in this space!
The grid gallery wall might be my favorite element in the room. After some deep thinking and discussion with Sarah, we decided to go with a grid wall instead of a traditional gallery wall or oversized art. The composition turned out great and I love that it updates the typical gallery wall we so often see. I found these vintage Vogue dog calendar prints on Etsy and I was sold. I love the quirkiness each piece brings to the space… which one is your favorite?
The cowhide rug has quickly become one of Piper’s favorite places to lounge. I searched high and low for the perfect cowhide. In the end, the quality of this rug and the price were unbeatable! I also loved that it was made completely of natural products and wasn’t going to bring dangerous materials into our home.
From a fashion perspective, my closet is always maturing and some of my favorite pieces are the ones that have stayed with me throughout the years. I tend to lean more toward neutrals in fashion, as well as home decor. What you like to wear on your body and what you like to put in your home go hand-in-hand. I enjoy using outfits from my closet as inspiration for my home. This is important to keep in mind as your style continues to evolve and you figure out what best suits you.
I wanted this room to reflect a delicate, feminine mood. The soft, cool gray paint color and the pattern reflected throughout the room from the light fixture help to create that aesthetic.
Here’s how to get the look in your own home…

What started out as a dilemma for enough space in our master bedroom, turned into a beautiful room I love getting ready in everyday!
