I sort of liked narrowing down the Best of Etsy post last month with the door knockers, so I thought I’d do the same this month. I’ve been shopping for new rugs and textiles now that our floors have been refinished, and Etsy is one of my go-to resources for Turkish & Persian rugs. For me, rugs are a huge source of inspiration when it comes to designing a room. I actually like to purchase textiles prior to painting, because that’s where I pull my color palette from. If you’re searching on Etsy, try terms like oushak rug, turkish rug, anatolian rug, persian rug, kilim rug, over dyed rug, or moroccan rug. It’s also important to make sure you have the “vintage” button checked. The search is really all about key terms and saving rugs or shops you like for a potential future purchase. Do you have any favorites from the collage? I’m partial to numbers 23, 15, and 29. I’m really feeling the neutral, muted tones for our current home!
It’s also good to note, anytime I purchase a vintage (or used) rug, I have it cleaned immediately. I’m sort of a germaphobe, and it’s always good to get a rug cleaned… they can hold a lot of dust and allergens. Trust me, you do NOT want to bring all of that into your house.
Do you guys prefer the regular Best of Etsy post, or the specific items? Happy Thursday!
