A Bright Boho Living Room

bright-living-room-with-large-windowsYou guys are going to love the last and final room in this home tour! In case you’re catching up, check out the amazing kitchen and dining room. My friend allowed me to shoot a few spaces in her home prior to my move. The final (and arguably best) room reveal is the living room, and it won’t disappoint. It’s practical for family living, feels casual for relaxing movie nights, and has the perfect amount of sophistication for entertaining and parties. Click through to tour this bright boho living room.

white-bright-living-roomFirst of all, the architecture in this historic home is phenomenal. Those breathtaking windows allow so much natural light to flood the room.

white-sofa-living-roomAlthough I’ve always been a fan of white sofas, my friend Carmen was actually the one who convinced me to pull the trigger on one for our new home. She’s had these slipcovered sofas for many years, and if they can withstand four boys and two dogs… I’m pretty sure I can keep up with them too. Slipcovers are not only functional because of the ease of cleaning, but I love the casual linen or cotton look they add to a space. I actually embrace wrinkles when it comes to slipcovers. They feel cozy, comfortable, and inviting!

indigo-down-pillowThe sofa is dressed with many gorgeous vintage, indigo and mudcloth pillow covers. I love the addition of blue to this space within the accessories and rug. If you’re looking for a budget friendly version of the pillows, check out this DIY!

living-room-gallery-wall

tv-gallery-wallMuch like many of our significant others… my friend’s husband requested an extremely large TV. He’s actually in the tech industry, so she’s been designing around technology for some time now. Her television area is another great example of how a gallery wall helps to anchor a large media unit. This gallery wall is really special and specific to their family. It’s filled with artwork created by her children, family photos, and meaningful moments she’s captured (Carmen’s an amazing photographer).

jute-rug-and-cute-dogsRemember these two peas in a pod from the kitchen post? They freely roam around the house and lounge- even on the white sofas, which doesn’t seem to be an issue. This was one of my selling points for a white slipcover. We allow Finn on the sofa (because who doesn’t love dog snuggles?!), but I wanted to make sure it was manageable to keep clean.

table-stylingThe living room is filled with so many gorgeous accessories, it was difficult to capture them all. This space also opens into a corner work area, which Carmen describes as the main station. She works here, helps the kids with homework, and the central location couldn’t be more perfect for keeping an eye on everyone.

colorful-styled-shelvesI can totally imagine a relaxing night in, cozied up in this living room. With oversized furniture, there’s plenty of room for everyone.
